ACEsTooHigh on hiatus

Update: Learning how NOT to be a workaholic turns out to be as much of a challenge as learning how not to be any type of -aholic.

So, I’m extending this hiatus until February 2025—a full year of recovery—to give myself a year to heal and figure out what comes next. And to provide some details about this transition and what it means in terms of PACEs science and larger economic, social and cultural issues.

My apologies for not announcing this in July…I kept thinking, “Tomorrow, I’ll start working on the next article.”

Previous post: My original plan at the beginning of the year was to take some time off from a year of transition in 2023—mostly taken up by organizational issues of spinning ACEsTooHigh off from PACEs Connection, applying to becoming an independent nonprofit organization, joining the Institute for Nonprofit News, and engaging it as my new fiscal sponsor. But I realized I needed more recovery time. I also need time to investigate ways to support the site and my work, which is what I’m doing now.

ACEsTooHigh will return with a new look and new articles in July. I’ll still be keeping an eye on the site and responding to comments.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Jane Ellen Steven’s ACEs Too High

    Re: Neal Harville III

    Dear: Ms. Steven’s

(My autocorrect changed the spelling of your name).

As a person concerned about the nuts + bolts of ACEsTooHigh; it never occurred to me that I would be entwined in the components that make up ACEs.

This explains why my Grandmother + Grandfather protected me from my Mother and intervened, on my behalf.

I remember always hearing: “If you Believe it; You can BECOME IT , + if you DREAM it; You can ACHEIVE it”!!!

That was my mantra. When I fell into The Education industry; I was middle aged + on the way toward Law School. Then I realized TEXAS can do WITHOUT ONE MORE ATTORNEY!! However, THIS Younger Generation Must Not Have Received What OLDER Generation’s Received Growing up!!! Maybe if I can learn from These Students then Maybe These Students can learn to Think Smarter not Harder?!

For going on Eight years I have made it work in Middle School + High School, in Amarillo, Texas. (I will tell you the Rest of the Saga After you TAKE YOUR HIATUS)!

YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!

ENOUGH IS HAPPENING IN THIS WORLD OF OURS THAT DEALS WITH: ACEsTooHigh, + Ukraine, Russia, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Israel, Israelis, Palestine, Palestinians, HAMAS, HEZBOLLAH, IRAN, Antisemitism in America has increased. This does not even take into consideration SCHOOL SHOOTINGS, DRUGS, HUMAN TRAFFICKING, KIDNAPPING, TERRORISM, BORDER IMMIGRANTS + DACA IMMIGRANTS….The list goes on and on.

As you know, look throughout History in America the Adventurous, Successful, Historical, Leaders overcome some Issue or Trauma before they SHINE.

(ON A SIDE NOTE. OUR DIFFERENCES ARE WHAT MAKE US STRONGER).

So, you need to recharge your batteries. There is enough that there is more than enough to say Grace over.

I will still be here, Godwilling. You need time for you.

    Shiloh, Shalom. Neal Harville,MS,MS,BS,BS.
